The CoolPeel laser treatment from the SmartXide Punto CO2 laser is a mild version of the CO2 laser. This treatment creates tiny channels in the dermis with a fine laser beam, locally vaporizing and "sticking" the skin back together. Thermal heat generation in the deeper layers of skin stimulates collagen production, which causes firming in the dermis. The treatment uses a very short pulse duration, creating controlled injuries with less heat buildup in the skin. This results in less redness, flaking and peeling after the treatment.

In America, this method is also known as the "lunch time break peel" because the laser can be set to different positions and depths depending on the skin condition.
