Acne therapy

An acne treatment focuses on balancing the skin, hydrating it, inhibiting inflammation and reducing sebum production. Depending on the type of acne and skin, a treatment plan is customized. During treatment, impurities are cleansed and sebum production is addressed. Several treatments can be performed and combined. These are focused to improve impurities, inflammation, scarring and dull/oily skin. This can be treated by laser, peels, nutritional advice and/or medication, for example.

Reimbursement by health insurance company

The treatment of facial acne can in most cases be fully or partially reimbursed by your health insurance. However, this depends on the additional insurance package. Acne therapy falls under the heading of acne. Ask your insurance company for the policy conditions.

In particular, acne treatment is used to reduce inflammation and prevent scarring. Acne treatment is often done in conjunction with physician treatment. Supportive products may also be used to reduce acne.

The standard acne treatment consist of cleansing the skin and removing the impurities present. If desired, it is possible to apply a chemical peel to the skin. Depending on the type of acne, various treatments are possible.
This varies from person to person and depends on the severity of acne, influencing factors such as: hormonal changes, response to treatment, home care and your lifestyle. For active acne, we recommend treatment every 2 to 4 weeks. After the acne is no longer active and under control, every 6 to 12 weeks, it is recommended to come for a maintenance treatment.
Depending on the type of treatment, the skin may be somewhat sensitive and slight redness and swelling occur. This may last up to several hours. The skin may feel a little red and warm about 1 day post-treatment. We recommend using as little makeup as possible for 1 day immediately after treatment and avoiding intense exercise.
Over the course of the treatments, you will notice that your skin becomes calmer, smoother and more even. The amount of pimples and blackheads will decrease and acne breakouts will become less and less common.
To ensure that the skin is optimally restored and prepared for the next treatment, home products are important. This is matched to your daily skin care products.
